Fresh Films Weekly Filmmaking Program

Apply to the Fresh Films Weekly Filmmaking Program to make films with young people just like you!

Teens ages 13-19, apply for our program to:
  • build filmmaking & storytelling skills
  • add to your portfolio with new projects every 4-6 weeks
  • learn about careers in the industry
  • build your professional network & resume

All levels of experience are welcome and no special equipment is required. For our in-person programs, you’ll have access to professional filming equipment. If you’re tuning in virtually, we’ll teach you to produce great work using smartphones or tablets!

These projects will prepare you for future job & education opportunities in media (and as a bonus, we bet the skills you learn will help you make better social media posts too!) Careers you’ll learn more about: videographer, editor, producer, screenwriter, digital storyteller, YouTuber, and many more!

What’s the commitment?
You’ll meet with the pros from Fresh Films and your fellow filmmakers once each week on Thursdays from 4-6:30pm ET, CT, or PST to learn new skills and create short film projects.

In January 2022, Weekly participants who are serious about building a personal career path into the film or entertainment industries have the opportunity can apply to our Pathways program.

This includes continuing with weekly filmmaking and adding in some career skills trainings and industry explorations to prepare you for a summer on-set apprenticeship or paid media internship. This is an amazing skill and resume-building experience. Participants must complete 3 Weekly Filmmaking projects to be eligible for summer opportunities.
